Every battery datasheet quotes cycle life at 25 °C. Almost no site in the region runs at 25 °C.
What the number means
6000 cycles to 80 % of nominal capacity, at 0.5C charge and 0.5C discharge, at 25 °C ambient. Change any of those conditions and the number changes with it — which is why the specification table on this site carries a conditions column that renders even when it is empty.
A number without its load point, ambient temperature and standard is not a specification.
What happens at 45 °C
- Calendar ageing roughly doubles for every 10 °C above 25 °C.
- Cycle ageing accelerates less, but the two add up.
- A rack in an unventilated container in August sees cell temperatures well above ambient.
What we do about it
The NZ-LFP BMS derates charge current above 45 °C cell temperature and logs the excursion. The service company reads that log at every visit, and the thermal survey compares terminations against the previous baseline.
